It’s unbelievable that it is already May and we only have one more month left of the 2007-2008 school year. I appreciate all the praise, support and camaraderie you have all shown towards me during my first year as a principal. I look forward to making VVHS an even more successful school next year.

I would like to thank all the teachers involved in testing. We appreciate your dedication in ensuring all our students had an environment conducive for testing. Mr. Nguyen, Bob Brough, Luanne English and Terri Bigleman have done a wonderful job sorting and organizing all the test materials. Thanks to them the testing has gone smoothly and we have tested approximately 95% of our students.

During the past month the eco club educated many of our students in an environmental awareness presentation. Kudos to their commitment and to Ms. Suntree for her guidance!

If you noticed a few more blonde heads around the school during the last couple of weeks you noticed right. The CARTA program hosted foreign exchange students from the Netherlands and our students will travel to the Netherlands to experience their culture next Spring Break. The Dutch students had a wonderful time here and enjoyed California. I applaud all the teachers who invited these students into their homes and made them feel comfortable and welcome!

The master schedule team along with Ms. Moke and the guidance office has done a remarkable job with the master schedule. They have the enormous task of placing students in their appropriate classes while making sure we have enough sections to satisfy all the student requests.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer and have the opportunity to go on vacation.

Athletics New May 16, 2008
Congratulations to the boys’ and girls’ swim teams for being co-champs with Canyon Springs.Valley View won all of the dual meets, but Canyon Springs won the Inland Valley League Finals.
Activities
Ron Raymond and his ASB staff have been working very hard to organize this years Prom. The prom will be held on April 26 at the Indian Wells Hyatt. The theme for the event this year is “An Evening Around the World.” Don’t miss it! Teachers are always welcome.
Science News
As we come to the end of the 2007-2008 school year the Science Department would like to take this opportunity to inform you about events that have occurred as well as provide some information to help your students successfully end this school year.
Athletics News
Spring sports are underway and representing Valley View very well. Boys’ Baseball is currently ( 3 – 1 ) in league and tied for first place with Vista del Lago and Canyon Springs.
