Stop by the Career Center for more information.<br><br>SAT weekend Bootcamps are being offered in Riverside through Be College Wise to help students improve their test scores.  See flyer in the Career Center.<br><br>Seniors planning to attend a college or university in California should turn in a Cal Grant Release Form to the Career Center ASAP.  There is a deadline so DON’T DELAY!<br><br>Speak your mind and win some cash for college.  Moreno Valley Rotary Club is offering a $1,000 scholarship for students to write and present a 5-8 minute speech.  Please see Mrs. Orozco in Room 134 or Ms. Suchan in Room 424 this week for details.<br> <br>Interact Club will meet in the Commons Thursday after school.<br><br>Attention all Seniors:  There is a name list of all Seniors on the PTSA bulletin board in the A wing hall by attendance exiting to the Quad area.  If you do not see your name listed, or your name is listed incorrectly, please see the Registrar in Guidance before or after school or at lunch before February 22nd.  To make any corrections to this list such as, incorrect spellings or name changes or additions, you must bring a copy of your birth certificate to the Registrar.  This list represents the spelling of your name for your diploma which should be your legal name on your birth certificate or court record.  If students do not see the Registrar, the diplomas will be ordered based on the school information in the computer.  NOTE:  Having your name on this list does NOT guarantee that you will graduate. It’s $70.00 cash or check!  Again, yearbook cover unveiling next wed. Feb 15th! <br><br>Please vote for the teacher you think deserves a Valentine’s day makeover and Makeup club students will provide the winning teacher with a complementary makeover, which your teacher will wear on Valentine’s Day.  Vote by donating money in your teachers jar. The teacher with the most donations will win a Free makeover!  <br> <br>Students if you want a Valentine’s Day makeover you can get your makeup done by Makeup Club students as well, the price is $5.   If you plan on going to Winter Formal, book your appointments with Makeup club.  Winter Formal Makeup price is $10 and Hair styling is also $10.  You are guaranteed to love your look.<br><br>Moreno Valley College Student Financial Services presents:  Cash for College Event.  Complete your FAFSA and you could qualify for an extra $1000 scholarship.  To qualify:  Attend a Free cash for College workshop, fill out your FAFSA and complete a workshop exit evaluation form held at Wednesday, February 8th, 2012 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Vista Del Lago High School.  Complete your Cal Grant GPA Verification from before the March 2nd Cal Grant Deadline, which will be done with your high school guidance/counseling Department.  To claim the scholarship if selected:  recipients must attend a 2-year of 4-year degree granting institution if Fall 2012 (within or outside of California).<br><br>The Moreno Valley College has celebrated the opening of a new Dental Education Center, to be held at the March Air Reserve Base.  Students who are aspiring to become Dentists or Dental Hygienists can visit as an individual or groups up to 30 people.   There are also programs to assist students with grants.  If you are interested, contact the Cindy Ovarad at (951) 684-3243.<br><br>Students with EAOP applications need to drop them off in the Career Center.  Last day to turn them in is Tuesday, February 7th at 3:45 p.m.<br><br>Come on out during both lunches on Friday, FNL will have a hugging booth and a photo shoot, donations accepted. The donations will be for the upcoming Youth Conference in March.<br><br>There will be a French Club meeting next Friday, February 10 at 3:15 in Room 423. Anyone interested may attend.<br><br>Seniors!  Have you already received a letter or letters of acceptance to a college or university?  Have you joined  a branch of the military?  Valley View would like to recognize you by displaying your name in the A-Wing hallway and giving you a shout out in the morning announcements.  Bring your letters of acceptance to Mrs. Kelley in the Career Center.<br><br>Winter Formal tickets went on sale, Wednesday, February 1st during lunches.  Tickets will continue to be sold through February 22nd.  Beginning February 6th, tickets are $35.00 w/ASB - $40 without ASB.  This year’s theme is:  A Trip to Barcelona.  It will be held at the Mission Inn in Riverside on February 24th from 7 – 12 p.m.  Hors de ouers and desserts will be served.  You may also purchase picture packages at the dance.<br><br>Drama Club will be presenting an "Improv show" on February 10th at 7 pm. If you answered 'Yes' to any of these then you should definitely come to the next Circle of Friends meeting on Wednesday, February 1st, in Room 102 during 1st lunch. Circle of Friends will be reintroducing the club, it's benefits, it's intentions, and friends who are already a part of it. Again, Circle of Friends will meet on Wednesday, February 1st, during 1st lunch in Room 102. See you there!<br><br>Attention all Sophomores!!! <br>You need to pass the CAHSEE Exam to graduate.  Your first chance to take it is Tuesday, February 7th for English and Wednesday, February 8th for Math.  You want to pass it on your first try.  Otherwise you could have 2 English and 2 math classes your junior year.  Who wants to do that??? To help you do this we have our CAHSEE Camp on Saturday, February 4th from 8:00am-1:00pm.  Sign up now with your 10th grade English teacher. Space is limited and we are already half full.  So don't wait. The crowd favorite will receive two free prom tickets and the special young man crowned Mr. Eagle will receive a free senior package including your grad nite ticket, six flags ticket, a beach trip and the senior luau.  Applications will be available in the ASB room during lunch starting Tuesday, January 17th.  Applications will be due on February 24th.
