ANNOUNCEMENTS

Attention staff and students!!! Finao is planning an intensive program to help disadvantaged 9th grade students next year and we need 25 to 30 dedicated students willing to become mentors next year. This mentor program will be like a “Big Sister-Big Brother” program and will be essential to help these troubled students find success in high school and beyond.
Also, we are recruiting new members for FINAO for next year and we will be having elections for officer positions. FINAO is a service club and you will receive community service for your active involvement in finao. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please come to the Career Center after school on Monday or come and see Mr. Williams in the Guidance office or Mr. Harrer in room 118 at your convenience.

Prom pictures are now available for pick up during lunch in front of ASB.

“Mahalo for the Memories” is this Wednesday, May 23rd from 5-8pm in the VVHS gym. Get your yearbooks one week early, enjoy a free digital photo booth, live music, obstacle courses and prizes for all! The cost is $10 at the door if you’ve bought your yearbook before Wednesday and $15 at the door if you have not.

There are 100 yearbooks left, make sure you get yours today! $75.00 cash!

Attention ladies: Anyone who was issued a locker in the girls locker room must have everything removed from that locker by 3:15 pm on Thursday May 31st. That afternoon all the combinations will be changed and anything left in the lockers will be removed and donated to charity.

The City of Moreno Valley is hosting auditions for youth between the ages of 6 to 22 to perform on the Youth Stage at the July 4th Family Funfest. Can you dance, sing, are you in a band? Then this is your chance of a lifetime. Auditions are open to Bands, Dancers, Dance Teams, Singers, Artists and Performers. Audition on Friday, May 18th from 3 – 9 p.m. at the Valley View High School Commons. For more information call 247-4785.

So you think you can dance? Dance Team Try-outs and Dance 4 placement auditions for the 2012-2013 school year will be held on Tuesday, May 15th and Wednesday, May 16th from 3:30-6:45pm in the VVHS Dance Room. We are looking for intermediate or advanced dancers who love the limelight. VVHS is also starting it’s own Boy’s Dance Crew to be an integral part of next year’s team. So guys, come on out to the audition and help us get this started. Pick up an audition packet in the Main Office or from Mrs. McQuain.

Hey sophomores! Have you received an invitation letter from National Honors Society? You must realize that you are not yet a member of the club. In order to become a member of NHS you must qualify by having a high GPA, a spotless discipline record, have submitted 6 teacher recommendations along with a completed application form. All this must be turned in by the second week of August to Mrs. Rogers in Room 158 or to Mrs. Macauley in room 119. Sophomores who received a letter from NHS please come to a meeting on Wednesday, May 16th in room 158.

Seniors: If you are paying for Senior Week – which costs $185.00, you have until May 18th to pay and if you are only going to Grad Nite – which costs $100.00, you have until May 18th. Hurry students and secure your spot for senior week activities. CASH ONLY!!

Package A: Disneyland Grad Nite, Six Flags Senior Trip w/ buffet dinner, Beach Trip and a Senior Luau

This package includes all schedule senior activities. Disneyland Grad Nite is on Friday, June 1st. Buses are scheduled to leave Valley View High School at 3pm and tentatively to return between 5 and 6 the next morning. On Monday, June 4th following the commencement practice, participating students will go to the beach until 4pm.
